Welcome to Eckankar in Washington!

The community of ECKists here in our state is warm, vibrant, and diverse - full of people who have searched for truth and spiritual freedom, and discovered a renewed sense of spiritual growth through the ECK teachings. Many of us have felt a sense of "coming home again," of connecting to others who have had similar spiritual experiences, and of finally being able to talk about these experiences with others who might understand. Spiritual experience is at the heart of the ECK teachings.

Perhaps you have had experiences as well. Experiences that have changed your life in some way and brought you into a greater understanding of what divine love is. Experiences that you knew were of a spiritual nature, but which you couldn't explain or which you were uncomfortable talking about because you felt others would not understand. Perhaps you have had a dream experience that was so real and wonderful that you didn't want to wake up, or a past life experience that gave you a deeper insight into a relationship with a family member or someone you know. Perhaps you have even had an out-of-body experience.

These are just a few examples of the kinds of experiences we have as Soul, and which the ECK teachings can help us to understand and learn to develop further. Harold Klemp, the spiritual leader of Eckankar, has said that "an ECKist's way to truth is through personal experience. This is our way to know what life is all about and our method for deciphering what truth means to us individually. In ECK, we want to know what life is all about via our own personal experience here on the physical plane, as well as in the other worlds."

The teachings of Eckankar may be for you. There are regular book discussion classes, worship services, and introductory talks throughout the state which you are welcome to attend. In addition, Eckankar offers monthly spiritual discourses (lessons) to those who choose to become members. These lessons may be studied either privately, or in a class setting where you can discuss the material with others to gain further insight.

Many have found that Eckankar is a wonderful path toward spiritual freedom. I wish you the best on your spiritual journey, and hope that learning more about Eckankar will help you further along the way.
